How-To Guide: Packaging Your Item Properly

Packaging well helps prevent damage in transit and keeps buyers happy. You want the buyer to receive the item in the same condition that it leaves you .

Follow these steps:

1. Prepare Your Packaging Early:

• As soon as you list an item, consider what kind of packaging it’ll need.

• Measure and weigh your item so you’re confident in choosing the right parcel size.

• order any boxes or packaging you will need

2. Protect the Contents:

• Wrap breakables in bubble wrap or padding.

• Items that could be damaged in transit or move in the boxes such as saddles would also benefit from some light padding or bubble wrap around them.

• For soft items, use waterproof mailers or small boxes.

3. Reuse Responsibly:

• Recycling is great! Just make sure to remove or cover any old labels or barcodes.

• Check that reused boxes are still sturdy and undamaged.

4. Clean Before Packing:

• Always send items clean and tidy.

• Wipe down boots, fold clothing neatly, and shake out saddle pads.

• Where possible give items a wash or wipe down before posting

5. Seal It Well:

• Use good quality tape and seal all edges.

• Include a note or thank you card for a personal touch if you like!
